“Hit ‘em up, hit ‘em up, baow baow—”
“Hit ‘em up, hit ‘em up, baow baow~”
Sisters’ melodic voices didn't fit brutal, harsh lyrics Yatonokami came up with. Still, they seemed to like the chorus quite a lot, repeating it numerous times after Kanata “begrudgingly” allowed them to listen to the demo.
However, where Nayuta joined his friends a couple of times, Kanata was muttering how Tachibana were ruining the lyrics’ impact with the way they sang it.
“But we do it wholeheartedly, with our entire~ bodies and souls”, Kou teased, poking the older twin in the ribs.
“Oh yeah? Then why weren't you invited to "Road to Legend”?” Kanata sneered, moving farther away from Kou. He could bite her for blatant lack of respect, of course, but he was not an animal like that guy Ryuu or some of the riskier Kou’s men. That, and he had his pride.
Much like the sisters did, too. Of course they wanted to be part of the “Road to legend”! Who wouldn’t, really? Especially if they were fairly known phantometal rappers. However, it didn’t depend on them. Maybe — most likely — Buraikan had their own criteria for choosing participants. Fame wasn’t one of them, probably. So it had to be something sisters either didn’t have or… the prize was something they didn’t need in the eyes of the legends.
‘But it’s really unfair they get all the fun’, Kiyoko couldn’t help but pout. She tried her best to not show that to Kanata specifically, but it was impossible to hide that from Nayuta, who was lazing on the couch with her. Instead of commenting on her apparent discontent, though, he simply threw a pillow to her.
A pillow that landed on her face, causing Kiyoko to mutter some curses addressed to certain “pillow-throwing murderers”. Some very non-threatening curses that merely made Nayuta smirk. Just a little bit.
“Just so you know, I wasn’t joking”, Kiyoko did her best to sound as threatening as possible but, apparently, her discontent look did not match the tone of her voice at the moment. And, perhaps, she just couldn’t be really angry with Nayuta. If not him, who would keep her company during midday naps? Nayuta seemed to be on the same page.
“Yes-yes, I get it”, still, he gave a very Nayuta answer.
Older siblings, in the meantime, continued their debate.
“— We sing for our own enjoyment and have already achieved our goal of expressing ourselves.”
"Or you're still leagues behind our music.”
“Oh? Is it a chall—”
There was only this much cockiness sisters could take. However, Kiyoko was the only best equipped out of the two — still hugging the pillow thrown at her previously — so the idea for retaliation was quickly put into action.
The pillow Kiyoko held close moments ago flew right into Kanata’s face.
“Wha—?!”
“Nice hit!” the older Tachibana smiled proudly, all while observing Kanata’s reaction.
Nayuta did too, although his need to observe came from the fast-paced turn of the event he had to take in. This happened with Tachibana sometimes, but this one was still unexpected.
